Orthodontics
The purpose of orthodontics is to realign or reposition teeth. Braces are usually used to achieve this end. Braces are comprised of brackets that are bonded to the teeth and wires which are threaded through and used to guide each tooth to their ideal position. There are a variety of braces available: metal braces, clear plastic braces, and ceramic braces that resemble the natural tooth.
Conventional Orthodontics
Conventional Orthodontics utilizes braces to realign teeth. Braces consist of brackets that are bonded to the teeth, and wires that are threaded through the brackets. The wires function as guides to reposition each tooth to its proper position. There are several types of orthodontic braces available, including the more traditional stainless steel (metal) braces, ceramic “tooth-colored” braces, and clear plastic braces.
Invisalign
Invisalign can give you the beautiful smile and healthy straight teeth you’ve always wanted. It works through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 to 5 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. You’ll visit us only about once every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
We can achieve excellent results with almost-invisible-clear braces or with Invisalign. Many patients’ conditions lend themselves to treatment with Invisalign. However, some situations do not. Please call our office for a consultation to find out if Invisalign is the right choice for you.
